What about Bing?
Microsoft has launched its new and modified search engine which has been introduced as a new competitor of Google and Yahoo. I particularly agree with the idea that Bing –the new search engine from Microsoft- have changed its name and technology making a renewed and modern one.
Starting with name I personally think it was a wise decision because compete with two of the most popular search engines of the cyberspace –such as Google and Yahoo- with letters-based name where others have name very famous, funny –In many cases- and easier to pronounce. That’s why I think that the marketing strategy in Microsoft was an excellent decision they have made.
As you can see, Microsoft launched Bing and they are arguing it has semantic technology and wonderful features to make a more excellent searching experience. Traditional MSN users are now experiencing with Bing and they are feeling the great difference –at least in the graphical interface- and they can now rank whether the new approach of Microsoft is good or not. I am now just starting to try with this search engine and it looks great but in general I don’t think it is going to be a great thing.
What I am completely sure is that Microsoft is now in the scenario with practically a new product ready to start the competition. They are focused in compete and produce several products for users, publishers, advertisers and different people. It is good that you make some comparisons with Google, Yahoo and now new Bing when you make searches in the Internet so that you can make your own conclusions about the quality of this product. I am making my own comparisons with Bing because they apparently have semantic capabilities and this technology is part of the future and next generation of the Internet. That’s why I think it could be a wonderful advantage Bing has in the market.
