The Straightened Bob

Since the nineteen twenties the bob has gone in and out of fashion and there is seldom a decade when the style is not seen in one of its many forms. In 2008 there was a return to the bobs that were popular in the late sixties and early seventies, where the hair was longer at the sides than at the back. In its earlier form the style had the longer sides curling onto the face, more recently there has been a tendency to straighten the style so that the sides cling smoothly to the sides of the face.

The straightened bob s a great style for those women who have fine, naturally straight hair, the rest of us spend hours with aching arms and straightness to achieve this style. Unlike the long styles of previous years where some women actually ironed their hair, this style is not long enough.

If your hair has a natural curl or wave then you may find that standing for ages with straightening irons in your hand, is a bit more trouble than the style is worth. This is a style that is favoured by top fashion models like Agyness Deyn and can look great on the very young or those with the bone structure to carry it off.
